There are positive, negative, and ugly aspects to any city, and it's possible to focus on just one of them. It's our goal to be neutral and honest while maintaining the perspective of a local on this journey. It may seem like a long time, but a half-day tour like that is the best way to visit all of Riga's most essential landmarks without rushing. "( Still, if you have the time or want, you can extend or shorten the excursion at any time. When it comes to the itinerary, it's flexible, so if you want to change anything, the guide is more than ready to accommodate. That way, the tour wouldn't get boring, and the guide wouldn't become a revolving door of data and figures.

Visiting the Hill of Crosses is an experience you won't soon forget! It has been a center of pilgrimage since the 1830s, when people began to erect crosses here to pray for the loved ones they had lost in the conflicts (Lithuanian-Polish commonwealth uprising against the Russian Empire). Locals kept returning and erecting new crosses at the site in protest of Soviet rule, despite repeated attempts by the government to demolish it. In 1993, Pope John Paul II made a pilgrimage to the Hill of Crosses, and since then, it has become a famous destination for travelers from throughout the world. Don't let the fact that it's a pilgrimage place scare you away. No matter your religious beliefs, you're free to visit this magnificent site as long as you show consideration for the experience of others.
